Data Privacy

We comply with all applicable data protection legislation as detailed by the UK Data Protection Act 1998. Information about you may be passed to other companies within Co-operative Group Limited for administration, marketing and analysis purposes and for customer surveys and market research.

We collect information such as name, address and date of birth when an enquiry is generated, or a booking is made. We may contact you by mail, telephone, fax, or e-mail to let you know about any other products, services or promotions that may be of interest to you. Information/personal data will not be passed on to any external 3rd party organisations outside of the Co-operative Travel. Your information may from time to time be used to promote the offers from other Co-operative Group companies. We must pass the information on to the relevant suppliers of your travel arrangements such as airlines, hotels, transport companies etc. The information may also be provided to your insurers (if you apply for insurance), security or credit checking companies, public authorities such as customs/immigration if required by them, for debt collection purposes or as required by law.

Additionally, where your holiday is outside the European Economic Area (EEA), controls on data protection in your destination may not be as strong as the legal requirements in this country. (If we cannot pass this information to the relevant suppliers, whether in the EEA or not, we cannot provide your booking. When making a booking, you consent to this information being passed on to the relevant persons) However we will not pass any information on to any person not responsible for part of your travel arrangements. This applies to any sensitive information that you give us such as disabilities or dietary/religious requirements.

If we change our Privacy Policy, the changes will be posted here, so that you are always kept informed of how we collect and use the information, and when we would disclose it. Your continued use of this website constitutes your agreement to the changed policy.

N.B. This only applies to this website and not to the websites of other companies, individuals or organisations to which we provide links. We are not responsible and will not be able to protect your privacy if you disclose personal information in this way.

Third Party Databases

In some cases we become aware of availability of flights and accommodation for sale because we connect to large databases by third parties, which contain availability details. These databases are commonly called General Distribution Systems (GDS) or Central Distribution Systems (CRS), and it is through these GDS/CRS that we purchase the relevant ticket or room nights. Unfortunately, certain airlines and/or accommodation providers do not maintain ‘real time’ availability. Whilst every effort is made to reflect the true situation, instances may occur where airlines or accommodation providers cancel bookings made by us.

We will advise you within 24 hours of your booking being made if this is the case. As a result of this you are strongly advised not to book other travel arrangements that are connected to and/or dependent on your booking with us until at least 24 hours have passed from the time of making your booking with us and you have not heard from us. If your airline and/or accommodation provider does cancel your booking we will offer you, where possible, suitable alternative arrangements. We will not however be liable for any additional costs incurred by you in the event that the alternative arrangements are more expensive than the original arrangements booked. If we are unable to offer suitable alternative arrangements, or you choose not to take the alternative arrangements offered, your booking will be cancelled and all monies you have paid to us for your booking will of course be refunded to you. We will have no further liability in this situation.

Website Maintenance

There may be occasions when obvious errors occur as a result of maintaining the website. When this occurs a price, product or service may be displayed incorrectly and in such instances we/the service provider reserve the right to cancel any contract based on the price, product or service that is displayed incorrectly immediately without liability to you (if a contract has in fact come into existence). We constantly monitor and check our systems to minimise the threat of this happening and in the unlikely event that this happens to you, we will inform you as soon as possible.
